When I discovered Lipizzaners, during a trip to Austria, I was in a state of ecstatic shock ! What a revelation ! This mythical and imperial horse, reserved only for Austrian aristocracy, inaccessible to all commoners, was a discovery for me at Laxenburg, the summer residence of the horses of the Spanish School of Vienna. Their natural position in their boxes, the promising roundness of their assembled and extended gaits were a dream. A few days later came the first physical contact, at a prestigious private stud. It confirmed the feeling of happiness that I felt riding such a horse and ensuing thrills were a confirmation of my growing interest in this breed of horses. An
incredibly sound mind, willpower, quiet during work a cold outlook-all
of this convinced me more and more. |
